more big news from strikeforce. scott coker has been in japan to talk with dream to get aoki to fight on a stikeforce card in 2010. possible opponents being tossed around are gil melendez and josh thompson. either way, freakin sweet.

then maybe some time down the road aoki v eddie alvarez 2 (i know he's the bellator champ but he recently fought for dream, so heres hoping).

also if they can manage to sign hendo....hendo v mousasi hendo will get a good look at him in the cage sat since he's cornering sokoju

well seeing as he's probably under contract with DREAM who is associated with Strikeforce it seems right to me. Potential fights we could see him have are Josh Thompson, Gilbert Melendez, Tatsuya Kawajiri, a rematch with Eddie Alvarez or with Vitor Ribeiro. How's that not good competition? Believe it or not my friend, the UFC may have a lot of the best fighters in the world on its roster, but they certainly don't have all of them.

I wasn't saying strikeforce doesn't have any competion or whether it makes sense. I'm just saying that he trash talked the UFC yet he won't go there and prove himself.

i'm with you there, aoki is a little shit-talking pansy. but i gotta say i do enjoy watching him fight. when he pulls off slick subs i'm impressed, when he's being bludgeoned by gnp i laugh. either way i usually find his fights entertaining

i dont blame him for promoting himself and trying to make the best opportunities his talent can yield him.

if that means getting out there and saying that he can beat a stack of UFC lws is all well and good--i for one think he probably can beat, or at least give a run to, most of those cats. i don't see him as a huge threat for penn but he's a huge threat to anyone in a division where the vast majority of fights are either decisions or subs.

I think having Aoki on the strikeforce roster is great for the fans. I wouldn't even put him in the top 5 lightweights, but he's a pretty entertaining fighter.

I would like to see him against Gurgel or Ribiero. Let's see how he matches up against other elite grapplers. And if its against Gurgel, it'll be the first time it makes sense for him to stand and bang!
