yeah it's hard to hit a guy in the head who doesn't want to be hit and it trying to not be hit in the head, so calculating a punch to the back of the ear seems a little far-fetched.
probably it's just bad luck for the fighters who get caught like that. if there seems like a sudden spate of them, it's just like flipping heads a few times in a row. if we see it consistently for the next year, then we'll know that maybe people are training for it, but if you think about how many knockouts you've seen, and how many have been due to ear punches, statistically it's totally insignificant. |

i was reading on the 16th thread page why don't we see karate chops to the neck, doesn't that fall into the lines of blow to the back of the head? i know the kneck isn't the head, but i think it would be even more of a concern with it being the spine.
